One of his top education advisors (and rumored to be his choice for Sec of Ed if elected) is Linda Darling-Hammond.
She has opposed almost every innovative, competitive reform, such as Teach For America and charter schools like KIPP. She is a protector of the status quo: public school monopolies and their co-dependents, teachers’ unions and schools of education. If she is who Obama turns to on ed policy, there is no way he will support vouchers.
