I don’t know about Alan Wolfe, but I was at a dinner the other night with a bunch of chaps that included novelist Tom Wolfe and retired TV exec Perry Wolff.  After the two of them had engaged in a very cordial exchange of views, I exclaimed:  “Ah!  Wolfe is man to Wolff.”   Nobody got it.  Why do I bother?  Pearls before … wolves, I guess.
