I don’t want to psychoanalyze, but there may be something to this, from a friend:
Someone needs to get Giuliani to a church. Now. Everyday for a week. His discomfort with faith, people of faith, and faith issues was excruciating. Call it: “Operation Come to Jesus. ”
There was something disturbing and painful watching a fellow Catholic (practicing or not, I have no idea if he does) from my hood (roughly speaking, I’m a Chelsea gal myself) being so uncomfortable with things that should come so naturally. And that’s bigger than politics.
A more general thought: If you’re the praying type I’d pray for all men who want to serve in politics. It’s a blessing anyone good does.
