Pod Person

My latest Bookmonger podcast is with the inestimable Norman Podhoretz, author of Making It, a memoir just published in a 50th-anniversary edition. We talk about why the book has endured, its odd connection to the New York Review of Books, and whether the word “neoconservative” still means anything. At the end, I ask what he thinks of today’s Commentary magazine, now edited by his son, John Podhoretz.

John J. Miller, the national correspondent for National Review and host of its Great Books podcast, is the director of the Dow Journalism Program at Hillsdale College. He is the author of A Gift of Freedom: How the John M. Olin Foundation Changed America.
