New York Assembly’s Marriage Vote

Late yesterday, the New York Assembly voted 89-52 in favor of a same-sex marriage bill. The Assembly has voted to redefine marriage before (in 2007) and everyone seems to recognize that the Senate is the real barrier to the gay-marriage scheme. The pro-marriage cause has some great defenders like Democrat Sen. Ruben Diaz Sr. and Archbishop Dolan who have been very strong and forthright about this, not to mention the state Conservative Party. I’m hopeful this will be stopped in the Senate as it has been previously.
