Netanyahu Addressing Congress

It’s a powerful speech and he’s getting a very enthusiastic reception. He asked that Americans send “an unequivocal message: America will never permit Iran to develop nuclear weapons.” A few additional excerpts (from my notes):

When we say never again, we mean never again.  Israel always deserves the right to defend itself. …

If the benefits of peace are so clear, why has peace alluded us? Why has peace not been achieved? Because so far, the Palestinians have been unwilling to accept a Palestinian state if it meant accepting a Jewish state alongside it.

Our conflict … has always been about the existence of a Jewish state. That is what this conflict is about. …

President Abbas must do what I have done .. .I stood before my people and said I will accept a Palestinian state.

They are not building a Palestinian state to continue the conflict with Israel but to end it. …

Israel will not return to the indefensible boundaries of 1967.
