A Missing Piece in Iraq Strategy

As Gen. Petraeus prepares to deliver his assessment, Andrew Garfield, whose experience with the British military runs from Belize to Belfast and who has also spent time in Iraq and Afghanistan, has penned an essay looking at influence operations as the missing or, at least, under-articulated and less developed segment of Iraq strategy. As an aside, it’s ironic how negative many commentators are to the idea of psychological and influence operations when, if they are done right, they obviate the need for more kinetic action. Here.
