Miers Poll Numbers

Two questions from a new Gallup poll: “Generally speaking, how would you rate Bush’s choice of Harriet Miers as a nominee to the U.S. Supreme Court — as excellent, good, only fair or poor?” Excellent, 11 percent; good, 33 percent; only fair 25 percent; poor, 16 percent; no opinion, 15 percent.

Comparison question from July 20: “Generally speaking, how would you rate Bush’s choice of John Roberts as a nominee to the U.S. Supreme Court — as excellent, good, only fair or poor?” Excellent, 25 percent; good 26 percent; only fair, 20 percent; poor, 14 percent; no opinion, 15 percent.
