McCaskill Backs Hillary for 2016

Senator Claire McCaskill became the first sitting member of Congress to endorse a 2016 presidential run by Hillary Clinton. The announcement was posted yesterday by Ready For Hillary, the PAC hoping to urge Clinton into making another bid for the presidency.

“Hillary Clinton had to give up her political operation while she was making us proud, representing us around the world as an incredible secretary of state, and that’s why Ready for Hillary is so critical,” McCaskill said. The Democratic senator from Missouri praised the group for “building a grassroots army from the ground up, and effectively using the tools of the Internet — all things that President Obama did so successfully” back in 2008. McCaskill backed Barack Obama early on in 2008, and now believes that his primary opponent is the best-qualified candidate.

The senator previously offered support for a Clinton presidential bid on the day Clinton retired from the State Department. “I look forward to being on her team and working my heart out to see her elected,” McCaskill stated.
