McCain: Weapons Shouldn’t Shape Syrian Policy

Senator John McCain told NBC’s Meet the Press this morning that he disagrees with the Obama administration’s handling of the Syrian crisis.

“The president drew a red line on chemical weapons, thereby giving a green light to Bashar al-Assad to do anything short of that, including Scud missiles, helicopter gun ships, air strikes, and mass executions,” he said.

“Our actions should not be dictated by whether Bashar al-Assad used these chemical weapons or not,” he added.
