The Corner

McCain

Does anybody remember McCain’s sterling turn on Saturday Night Live back in 2002 — the one where he sang Streisand songs because if she can talk politics, he can sing her material? During that show, he played then-Attorney General John Ashcroft in a hilarious and mean “Hardball” skit in which he pounded the table and shook his fists and bulged his eyes. Alas, all I could think of during his perorations on the war on terror was that he looked exactly like his own caricature of John Ashcroft. (Yes, for the record, my beloved wife works for SNL.)
