National Review senior writer Michael Brendan Dougherty, on today’s edition of The Editors, said that “Democrats have learned something in the past few years” about how they treat their candidates.

“They need to treat Kamala Harris’s superciliousness as needing more protection than Joe Biden’s senility,” he said. “They let him get exposed in a debate, and they lost their candidate that they had voted for in the primaries.”

He added, “Now they know that you just can’t . . . let someone who has goo for brains go out there and speak for themselves. And Kamala Harris has goo for brains. I’m sorry. She is not impressive in any way whatsoever unless the lines are scripted.

“This is someone,” Dougherty said, “who’s reportedly done rehearsal dinners, you know, prepare for a dinner with donors and other people who already like her.”

Dougherty continued: “This is someone who is profoundly insecure in their own thoughts and their own mind, does not know what she thinks, does not know how to justify what she thinks. So they have to keep her under wraps, and they will continue to do so.

“They are locking her up more than Joe Biden was locked up during Covid in 2020 and more than he was this year.”
