Man, He Feels Like a Woman

Of all the various federal and provincial “human rights” regimes in Canada to investigate me for “flagrant Islamophobia,” the looniest was Ontario’s. Margaret Wente writes on the province’s latest jurisprudential whimsy:

Here’s your cutting-edge human-rights case for the day: Should a person with a penis be allowed to use the women’s locker room because he feels like he’s a woman?

No prizes for guessing the correct answer.

Let’s take it as read that I’m a “right-wing hater.” As I wrote here, most of these other fellows — the health club owner, the restaurateur, the plastic surgeon — aren’t hateful or even right-wing, just the usual mushy go-along-to-get-along types trying to keep their heads down and run their businesses. Yet they can’t avoid the attentions of the “human rights” apparatchiks any more than a 24/7 hatemonger like me. That’s the evil of the system.

George Jonas, meanwhile, writes of the other Ontario “human right” du jour — the OHRC’s intervention in a criminal case to argue that a Muslim witness’s right to be veiled from head to toe trumps the accused’s right to a fair trial

And, just to round things out, it turns out the Canadian “human rights” secret agents who spend untold hours lurking on unread U.S. “white supremacist” sites in case some hapless loser from Manitoba shows up can find all the hate they want on the taxpayer-funded message boards of the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation
