James Taranto made a clarification yesterday on Robert George’s piece from earlier this week that bears mentioning here:
Lott and the CCC
Our item on Lott yesterday cited a National Review Online piece by Robert
George that inadvertently exaggerated the senator’s relationship with the
“racialist” Council of Conservative Citizens. Although it’s true that a
column written by Lott has appeared in the CCC’s publication, Citizen
Informer, Lott did not write this column specifically for the group; rather,
his office “syndicated” it.
