London Transport, as still essentially a nationalized industry, remains a stronghold of hard-left labor unions. The news that tube drivers are refusing to drive trains, then, could represent an Achilles Heel for Tony Blair’s “act normal and we win” policy. It’ll be interesting to see how the government reacts if a strike is called.
