Lo and Behold, the Secret Service Can’t Figure Out Who Brought the Cocaine

A bit more than a week ago, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre repeatedly insisted that the Biden administration had “confidence that the Secret Service will get to the bottom” of how cocaine ended up in the White House. And I do mean repeatedly.

“We have confidence that the Secret Service will get to the bottom of this.”

“I just said that we have confidence that the Secret Service is going to get to the bottom of this… We have confidence that they will get to the bottom of this.”

“Let them do their investigation.  Again, this is under their purview.  Let’s see exactly what occurred and what happened.  They’re get — going to get to the bottom of this.  “They” meaning the Secret Service.  Not going to get ahead of — of any changes in protocol or anything like that.  Let’s let the Secret Service do their job, which we believe and have all the confidence that they will get to the bottom of this.”

“We’re going to get to the bottom to exactly what happened — the Secret Service will, not us.  And so, we’re going to let the Secret Service do their job.”

“I’m just not going to get ahead of if or — or whens or changes.  We just have to let the Secret Service do their job, which they are.”

Lo and behold, it appears the U.S. Secret Service is not able to get to the bottom of this.

The Secret Service has concluded its investigation into the small bag of cocaine found at the White House and has been unable to identify a suspect, two sources familiar with the investigation told CNN.

Secret Service officials combed through visitor logs and surveillance footage of hundreds of individuals who entered the West Wing in the days preceding the discovery and were unable to identify a suspect, one of the sources said.

Investigators were also unable to identify the particular moment or day when the baggie was left inside the West Wing cubby near the lower level entrance where it was discovered.

It appears that the Hunter — er, the hunt for the suspect has come to an end with no answers. Boy, that’s really convenient for whomever at the White House brought the cocaine or wanted someone else to bring them cocaine.
