Lieberman Wins One for Democracy

And credit to Sam Brownback too. Just got this from a Senate staffer:

yesterday, during the debate on the Foreign Operations appropriations

measure, the Senate approved the Lieberman-Brownback amendment to fully

fund the president’s request for $75 million to promote democracy in

Iran.  The next step is to ensure the Senate’s version prevails over the

House (which came in at $50 million) when the conference committee takes

up the bill.

Let’s see if Pelosi and Lantos (who seems to have been taking huge quantities of dumb pills recently, between being one of the worst Dems on the war, and accompanying Madame P to Damascus for her triumphal appeasement tour) will lift their wizened fingers for the Iranians.
