Laying Around

My earlier note on the dangers of leaving Playboy magazines in the parlor drew a comment from a grammatically sensitive Terry G:

For years, I’ve resisted telling my students what they might be connoting when they write about “laying around the house all day.” With that superb antecedent, your sentence nicely outdoes them all. 🙂

I’d be laying if I didn’t say I’m always pleased to be doing my share to shape young minds.
