Rick:  I still can’t find the poem.  Homer nodded, though, and so did Betjeman–plenty.  If you want to see the guy at his worst, try “A ballad of the investiture.”  (Though poet laureates, like other public servants, have to do a lot of dirty work, to be sure.)  There are pieces of mine I wouldn’t wish to be judged by, and I’m sure that’s true of any writer.
