Killing Them to Save Them?

Remember that silly New York Times op-ed last week in which Al Gore picks up a set of keys dropped by an American Muslim woman working out in a gym – and thus restores her faith in America The Beautiful?

I just read it (Claudia Rosett sent it to me – I had only perused it earlier) and noticed that the author of the piece – a student at Harvard’s Kennedy School – also refers to “America’s conflict with the Muslim world: the war in Iraq.”

Does that not imply that she believes the suicide bombers represent the Muslim world? Has she really bought the argument that the terrorists are murdering Iraqi Muslims for their own good? And that those defending Iraqi men women and children from the killers are in conflict with Islam?

I have some Iraqi friends I’d like her to meet – but I think I wouldn’t leave them alone with her for very long.

And BTW: Is this what they teaching up at Harvard?
