Kogelo, Kenya — Here at the home village of Obama’s father, there are some 50 members of the international press corps camping out – some literally in tents. Just saw one of them almost gored when she came too close to a bull, tethered to a tree in the Obama compound, which is due to be slaughtered in Sen Obama’s honor for tomorrow’s celebrations. At the village dispensary, a generator has been set up with a large TV screen to watch returns. There is also an all-night prayer vigil in the village, with 40 mostly evangelical and pentecostal leaders in attendance offering up ecstatic prayers for “our brother Barack.” According to his half-brother Malick, the senator had a phone conversation with him Saturday, though he declined to say what was discussed.
