Green Party presidential nominee Jill Stein has raised more than $6 million for a recount of the 2016 presidential election in key states. Donors may wish to check the fine print:
We cannot guarantee a recount will happen in any of these states we are targeting. We can only pledge we will demand recounts in WI and MI and support the voter-initiated effort in PA.
If we raise more than what’s needed, the surplus will also go toward election integrity efforts and to promote voting system reform. This is what we did with our surplus in 2004.
If you donate money to her, she pledges to demand something that she cannot guarantee will occur. Heck of a deal!
It’s really a noble sacrifice for Stein to accept all of these donations through the Internet, since she’s worried that wireless signals may harm the brains of children, declaring, “We should not be subjecting children’s brains, especially to that… We make guinea pigs out of whole populations and then we discover how many die.”
At first glance, her view seems ridiculous, but if people are willing to give Jill Stein more than $6 million for the pledge to demand a recount, maybe there are a lot more damaged brains running around than we thought.
