I’m delighted that you had an interaction with the great Professor Lin Yutang, who died so many years ago. (Note to NRO readers: John looks much too young to have accomplished most of the things he actually has. Quite a life story.) I have discovered that Lin Yutang and his wife used to attend my church—Madison Avenue Presbyterian, on the Upper East Side—and that his wife was a member there. It’s enough to make me want to start a Confucian/Christian rap group called the Yu Tang Clan….
