Last week, Kellyanne Conway discussed a fundraising letter from Christine Todd Whitman’s new anti-social conservative PAC, called “It’s My Party, Too.” The letter described John McCain as a member of the organization’s board of advisors. That surprised me, and I noted it on the Corner.
McCain aide Mark Salter tells me, however, that McCain asked the Whitman group to stop listing him as a supporter “quite some time ago”–as soon as he found out the purpose of the organization. He says that the organization has promised not to list McCain as a board member in future letters or on its website. (The site is currently inconsistent in its treatment of McCain: Sometimes he’s described as a board member, sometimes he’s not.)
Glad to get that cleared up.
