My understanding is that the military guys on the ground had wanted to do that raid for a long time–years even. It’s a sign that the gloves are beginning to come off. We have long heard that we know about Iranian agents inside Iraq but have refused to do anything about them, which has always been maddening. At least it looks as though that policy is about to end.
