Paul Weyrich is saying that if Democrats take the House, they will try to impeach President Bush. Brendan Nyhan thinks that’s far-fetched: “Does anyone actually think the House Democrats would impeach Bush on a narrow party-line vote knowing they will fail to convict in the Senate? Barring some sort of blockbuster revelation, this seems improbable.” My guess is that the Democrats would at least come under strong pressure to do just that. And I think it’s a legitimate issue for Republicans to raise. (Via Tapped.)
