Immigration: The Path Biden Rejected

My latest column goes into Biden’s immigration failure — why it didn’t have to happen, and why it happened anyway:

His new restrictions at the border make him the third president in a row to attempt to change immigration policies through fiat, after he became the fourth in a row to fail to get Congress to enact changes. Biden’s immigration mistakes stand out, however, for their needlessness — and for the political damage they have inflicted on him. . . .
