I’m Not Listening! I’m Not Listening!

Bill Keller of the New York Times has decided to put his fingers in his ears and go “la la la” when it comes to online criticism of the vaunted fishwrapper that is his newspaper: “On the advice of managing editor Jill Abramson, he’s mostly stopped reading the media blogs,” writes Rachel Smolkin in American Journalism Review. She quotes Keller saying of such blogs: “There’s nothing wrong with them, and I don’t object to their existence. It’s just that they can lead to a tremendous and to a somewhat disorienting degree of self-absorption.”

Next up: Jill Abramson lays out Bill Keller’s clothes at night so that he can dress all nice for school tomorrow morning.
