As always, my instincts are pushing me in an altogether more gloomy direction, but as I’m the sort of pessimist who is always mildly surprised to emerge alive from aeroplane turbulence, takeaway food and chance encounters with the music of Barbra Streisand this can, perhaps, be disregarded.
