There is conservative opportunity in 2008. But I think reminding people of what this movement has been and should be about is not a bad thing. Should we be looking at the realities of the current moment? Of course. But I think if you look at much of what has been written here criticizing McCain in the past few weeks, it, too, has been been motivated by and borne of a “healthy love of our country and a sensibly cautious optimism about its future.”
