But it would hardly be the first time. Here is President Obama getting all annoyed at the state of negotiations over a long-term spending deal, after finally deciding to involve himself in the talks — some 45 days after the House passed a spending bill, H.R 1. He said it would be “inexcusable” if lawmakers failed to reach an agreement on how to “take care of last year’s business . . . simply because of politics.”
“Keep in mind we’re dealing with a budget that could have gotten done three months ago, could’ve gotten done two months ago, could’ve gotten done last month,” he said.
How about seven months ago, when Congress is typically supposed to pass a budget for the entirety of the fiscal year? Didn’t Democrats control both houses of Congress and the White House back then? Maybe some of your fellow Democrats can refresh your memory, Mr. President:
