Hutchison vs. Perry

Kay Bailey Hutchison is expected to announce today that she’ll run against Texas governor Rick Perry. Or rather she’s expected to announce that she’ll be announcing that soon. She’s raised just under $7 million for the race so far.

But as I argue in the latest National Review (subscription required), Texas has done pretty well under Perry’s brand of conservatism. Here’s the question I’d put to the senator: What has she learned in Washington that’s going to make Texas better off?
