Was launched fifty years ago today. And the Hungarians are taking to the streets again. A personal complaint: I don’t like calling it the Hungarian Revolution because I was taught that revolutions are in some significant respect successful. The Hungarian uprising didn’t get rid of Communism. It was a revolt or a rebellion but no less honorable for having failed.
