Well, JPod might be able to correct me or flesh this out more, but I think the answer is that Treuhaft was one of the lawyers for Bobby Seale during the Black Panther trial in Connecticut. Hillary was a volunteer on the side of the Panthers, “monitoring” the trial to make sure the Panthers’ rights weren’t being violated. Treuhaft was impressed with young Hillary and offered her an internship.
