The Corner

Hey, Mark (K.)

What’s wrong with CATO’s Spanish U.S. Consitution? Here’s what I’m thinking: I’m thinking of an immigrant who is not assimilated–goodness knows Manahattan, for instance, is filled with Spanish speakers who don’t speak English.

If anything is going to be translated, how about the Consitution? Immerse folks in what we are. The GAO or whomever isn’t doing it–a private group is. I might be very niave to think that anyone will read the Constitution in spanish, love it, decide to immerse themselves in everything American and learn English for the sake of their children learning everything about this great country…but on the list of things I’d be upset about, that’s…probably not on it.
