A Healthy Concern?

From a reader:

I was reviewing the state by state breakdown of the “stimulus” plan, and something caught my eye. Everyone seems to be talking about SCHIP as the foundation for nationalized health care, but what I noticed in the “stimulus” bill was:

“Computerizing every American’s health record in five years, reducing medical errors and saving billions of dollars in health care costs.”

Hmmm…why would the government want all of our health records computerized, if the they didn’t plan on taking them all over…..

Computers sound sensible. It is 2009 and all. But I understand the reader’s worry!
