Handwringing from a ‘Progressive’ History Ph.D. Who Can’t Find Work

The U.S. wastes lots of resources in the production of aspiring professors. They go to grad school, hoping eventually to land a tenure track position, usually borrowing heavily to finance the “investment” and often absorbing the “progressive” view that America is a terrible blight on the world.

In this PowerLine post, we read about the travails of one such individual. He did everything right, but now finds that because he’s just a white “ally” of the DEI crowd, he can’t land a job.

My hanky is soaked.

If we want to stop the waste of resources on unemployable academics, the solution is for the government to stop lending money for grad school. That would bring a much needed dose of reality.
