Hamas Still Has Her Husband

Yesterday I wrote about what to make of the testimony from the released Hamas hostage. Some got excited that as well as saying she’d been through “hell” and beatings, the 85-year-old also said the terrorists were “friendly in their way.” She offered one of them “peace” and a handshake before being transferred to safety. Obviously, it’s difficult to read much into her account given that her husband is still being held captive. (What would you say in her shoes?) But even so, traumatized people don’t always behave the way we’d expect. And there is more than enough evidence to condemn Hamas as it is.
