The Corner

Greetings!

I’m in the United States for the first time in some three weeks. It’s good to be home. The weather could not have been kinder to the National Review cruise. We had a good group of readers and friends on the USSNR – thank you all for coming. Highlights included Ephesus, Santorini, John O’Sullivan, David Pryce-Jones, and Christina Hoff Sommers. But the list goes on. You really can’t do justice to some of the great, successful, beautiful souls who came along for the ride.

Hope to see you on a future NR cruise!

Meanwhile, feel free to let me know what I missed while I was away — the last few days in my beloved Roma — as I catch up. This morning I turned on cable “news” and opened my inbox to hear and read about Obama’s birth certificate and John McCain and Jackson Browne. This gives me the impression people still don’t realize how much can happen too quickly if we don’t get some brakes working in Washington.
