Governance of Higher Education in North Carolina

Every state is different with regard to its system for governing public higher-education institutions. (Education is, after all, left up to the states under the Constitution; unfortunately, the federal government has been intruding since the time of LBJ.) In today’s Martin Center article, Ashlynn Warta explains how the UNC System is governed.

The governor has surprisingly little power.
