GOP Loses Its First Governor This Year: Tom Corbett Goes Down in Pa.

Republican incumbent governor Tom Corbett has lost to Democratic challenger Frank Wolf, a businessman and former state revenue official. Wolf led Corbett, who won election by about ten points in the Republican wave year of 2010, throughout most of this year by double digits.

Corbett lost popularity rapidly as governor, facing criticism for his conservative stances on gay marriage and gun control. (And, seemingly less controversially, in favor of privatizing overpriced state liquor stores and the state lottery.)
