Goodwin Liu on Reparations for Slavery

If you like the idea of perpetual society-wide racial quotas as a purported means of achieving racial reconciliation — or the idea of judicial invention of constitutional rights to education, shelter, subsistence, and health care — then you’ll love President Obama’s nomination of 39-year-old Berkeley law professor Goodwin Liu to a seat on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit (a seat that Liu himself sees as a mere steppingstone on his way to the Supreme Court).

Liu’s confirmation hearing is scheduled for tomorrow afternoon. I’ve been blogging extensively about Liu on Bench Memos. An inventory of my posts, as of yesterday, is available here
