Good Poll News for McCain in Purple Minnesota

A new poll from SurveyUSA (asked of 552 registered Minnesota voters between September 10-11) shows John McCain’s choice of Sarah Palin has moved independent voters towards the GOP ticket, while Obama’s choice of Joe Biden has bombed.   The results of one survey question — “Does John McCain’s choice of Sarah Palin as his running mate make you more likely to vote for him? Less likely? Or will it make no difference? – showed a positive net between “more likely” and “less likely” of 60% among Republicans and 10% among Independents.   When similarly asked “Does Barack Obama’s choice of Joe Biden as his running mate make you more likely to vote for him? Less likey? Or will it make no difference?” the response showed a net between “more likely” and “less likely” of 35% among Democrats and a minus 9% among Independents.
