I suppose if I had to pick a candidate in the Democratic primaries, it would be Lieberman–or even better, the Lieberman of 1997. His nomination would be best for the country and the Right, I think, although the calculation is tricky. What I don’t get is Jonah’s reason for not endorsing Lieberman: “he’s got no chance of winning the nomination.” Jonah, are you concerned about wasting the power of your endorsement in the Democratic primary? That your endorsement of Lieberman wouldn’t help him, but you might just pull Dean over the finish line?
