A friend said to me a few weeks ago (I paraphrase): I don’t worry too much about the White House [this was after a conversation about seemingly hopeless Republicans in other branches of government). This president–he’ll usually do the right thing in the end–even if some of those around him would be inclined not to.
Well, on most issues–he qualified it.
But hey, maybe on more issues than we sometimes give him credit for.
That said, a little more on that immigration plan, por favor. (Bush giving Frist and co. a talking to on Bolton the other day started me on this mood.)
