Last night on Special Report, Major Garrett summarized a John Edwards Christmas ad thus: “Edwards strikes a far more somber tone saying one in four veterans is homeless, 37 million Americans live in poverty….”
This seemed like such a blatant lie I was all prepared to go after Edwards for it. But I checked the video and it seems the mistake is Garret’s. Edwards says one-in-four homeless people are vets (which may be a stretch, but much less of an outrageous one) not the other way around. You can see the ad here.
