You know, I am all for Fossella resigning. But I’m a little unclear why David Paterson, the serially adulterous Governor of NY, who recently replaced moral paragon Eliot Spitzer, gets a free pass. The difference between a mistress and a second family is, more or less, attributable to the conscientious use of contraception. And Fossella didn’t charge the hotel rooms used for trysting to the taxpayers. But I suppose New York would be less governed and represented if we made all adulterers resign . . . Which would not be a bad outcome, come to think of it.
