Let me chime in (a bit late) to simply say that I think a constitutional amendment to prohibit flag burning is an abomination. Despite the offensiveness of flag desecration, adopting such an amendment would trivialize the constitution. Let me also incorporate by reference Eugene Volokh’s case against the amendment here.
