A buddy of mine says he heard a story about the Inaugural this morning which noted that big donors will meet the president and “dine on filet of beef tenderloin.” But they made it sound like only the super-rich have ever tasted such a rare delicacy. Presumably fatcats who don’t eat red meat will be offered a choice of “breast of chicken” or “a mixture of a rice dish called ‘pilaf’ and an assortment of vegetables such as ‘asparagus,’ ‘carrots’ and — rumor has it — an imported plant called ‘zucchini’.”
