One last point: I do think some of our friends are over-estimating how easy victory should be in this campaign. The jobs picture is dreadful, but President Obama took charge during a meltdown, so the public cuts him slack. People still like him. He’s not close to being perceived the failure that Jimmy Carter was on foreign policy. And there’s a Bush overhang. Romney can win, but it was never going to be a cinch.
